I was commissioned by Talbots to create an artwork for their, The Art of the Scarf collection in partnership with Susan G. Komen.
The back of the Talbot’s Oct 2020 catalog, and main promos included this shot of my scarf. I am so grateful to see this commission come to life. I am honored. The art included a lot of deep symbolism of overcoming the tumor I had removed from my small intestines in 2019. I use visual meditation and imagine butterflies in my body, to help me heal from my experience. And the scarf embodies the healing and strength we have as women to boldly keep moving forward in the face of darkness and endlessly transform. I wanted my scarf to be a work of art that can be worn, and make any woman feel beautiful. Wrapping herself in butterflies to remind her of the cocoon she is shedding. I’m currently getting my scarf framed in an acrylic box, and can’t wait to hang in my studio. I will cherish this for a long time.
Visit talbots.com to purchase your scarf today. And 10% of proceeds benefitting Susan G. Komen.
I wanted my design to be a light, ethereal work of art. I used flowers and butterflies to represent the endless change and transformation we go through as women.
I was elated to see the scarf in person recently. It is more stunning than I could have imagined. The team at Talbots was so warm and lovely.
I was so pleased to see how the 41'“ x 41” silk scarf turned out. And for such an amazing program. And look, Niki Taylor modeling it, not too shabby!
It was also amazing to see women on Instagram, share their photos styling the scarf. I loved this shot of @angelmhou
Last night I was watching the trailer for Emily in Paris, a new Netflix show debuting October 2nd. I was already excited about the rom-com starring Lily Collins set in Paris. But I got SO excited when I thought I spotted a print of mine in the set design. I had to back up, and there it was-my artwork All that Glitters! I was elated. I work with a licensing agency that manages my rights for broadcast deals. I cannot wait to watch this show!!
I was so excited to spot my piece in this clip. And now I cannot wait to binge watch this show. Darren Star (the creator of Sex and the City-is behind this new show and so is Patricia Field for the styling of Lily’s character. So for every glam girl, who loves Paris and fashion…this will be a delight. I’m gonna grab some champagne or red wine-something French obvi, and chocolate mousse cause bI’ll e up all night watching this one. I am beyond flattered that my artwork is apart of this show. And I can’t wait to see how much airtime she gets. It reminds me of when my artwork was on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The common denominator here is both scenes are in Paris and with her feminine, and empowered women. So I like to think it’s pretty magical that my art is in it, oui?!
All that Glitters Is not Gold,) is a piece from 2012. This piece meant to me, that sometimes we may come across people or even project in our own life that things are perfect (and gold) when they are far from it. I loved the intense look that she exuded. I was becoming more and more confident in my work at this point, and ready to end a decade long relationship and start over. And I knew…that I had to stay gold throughout the process no matter how hard things were going to get. Most of the fashion illustrations I created at that time became very emotive of whatever I was feeling on any given day. They taught me to always pick up a paint brush if I was feeling emotional. Because it has a away of bringing whatever work I was doing, to life.
I’m so excited that the book I illustrated, Why French Women Wear Vintage is now available to purchase. This was a dream project and I am so thankful I got to work with Aloïs Guinut and the team at Octopus Publishing in the UK on this. It’s a gorgeous book you can now buy here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Why-French-Women-Wear-Vintage/dp/1784726699/ref=sr_1_1?field-isbn=9781784727185&qid=1597151969&refinements=p_66%3A9781784727185&sr=8-1

And the dreamy back cover.
This was a dream project because I was given a lot of creative freedom and trust. I can’t wait to see what you think!
The book is full of street style photography, and watercolor fashion illustrations. With wonderful advice on how to dress more French ;)
I was commissioned by Harper’s Bazaar Korea, along with 23 other artist’s to create my own cover design artwork for their 24th Anniversary issue. Such a fun project, and one I have wanted to do for a while. This piece is about my longing for a tropical summer, although it might feel a bit more somber because of COVID. So a perfect mix of all the range of emotions I am processing.
Coming August 2020, Why French Women Wear Vintage. I illustrated this book with the amazing team at Octopus Publishing for Aloïs Guinut.
